I never understood this. Asking a P2P user to buy a P2P software is a bit too much.

We (GigaTribe) do the same thing, but otherwise we wouldn't have any money to develop our product! In any case, we have a highly functional free version that most people use. Check ours out (www.gigatribe.com), it's better as it's private p2p (you only share with people you know like friends or family), other software will get you into trouble with the law!
