Keep track of Olympics 2008 on Google Maps
Google has launched a new website for Beijing Olympics 2008 which provides the latest news of the competitions, videos provided by YouTube and 3D models of the stadiums that host the events, created in Google SketchUp. The portal integrates Google Maps to display satellite images of the stadiums and the exact locations of where a particular event is being held, making it possible to see details up to the seats on the stadium!
To keep track of the medal count, click on the 'Medal' tabs and then use the Map to get details of the progress of the countries in the games. The 'Events' tab displays the latest schedules by date, country, and sport.
There is also an iGoogle gadget available to add it to your Google hompage to get latest information about the event.
