Wordpad 2009 - Wordpad with the Ribbon interface

>

I’m not sure if anybody still uses Wordpad, the default word processor of Windows (in case you are mistaken, MS Office is not the default Windows word processor because it doesn’t come inbuilt with Windows). I’m also not very sure how many people like the Office 2007 ribbon interface and how many hate it, but some developers and designers are definitely in love with it as I vaguely remember seeing a number of applications with the ribbon. Take for instance the Notepad 2008. And yes, Wordpad 2009 comes from the same guy.

There isn’t much to say about this application except the ribbon and I’m not going to go gaga over it, after being chastised by the lone commenter in the Notepad 2008 post. So why am I writing this? Because it’s new and there is no denying the fact that there are a lot users who is swooning over the Windows 7 cum Vista look. As for me, I have no problems with the ribbon and it isn’t a bad design anyway. By they way, Wordpad 2009 is definitely better than the default Wordpad in Windows and it supports tabs. So if you like the ribbon and the different color schemes of Office 2007 but want an extremely light and basic word processor, you will like Word 2009.

  1. Selecting color for font is missing. Had it been added it would have been still nice.
