Dump 10 Facebook friends, get a free Whopper
Fresh from their “Whopper Virgins” ad campaign against arch rival McDonalds', fast food chain Burger King has launched another rather offensive campaign - this time using Facebook. Burger King has created "Whopper Sacrifice," a hilarious Facebook application that awards you a coupon for a free hamburger if you dump 10 people from your friends list.
Whopper Sacrifice’s website says:
What would you do for a free Whopper? Now is the time to put your fair-weather Web friendships to the test. Install Whopper Sacrifice on your Facebook profile, and we'll reward you with a free flame-broiled Whopper when you sacrifice 10 of your friends.
Frankly, some of your friends on Facebook might be worth trading for a sandwich. The funniest part is, the application sends a message to the unfortunate friend telling him that this person valued a Whopper more than his friendship. Ouch!
Fortunately or unfortunately, you can’t dump all your N number of friends for N/10 burgers, because the promotion is limited to only one coupon per Facebook account.
At the time of writing this article, 46,276 friends has already been sacrificed.
