Microsoft has recently set up a Twitter account called @MicrosoftHelps that aims to provide Windows 7 customer support on a one-to-one basis. The account is just a week old and there are already 2.5k+ followers. No doubt, this number is going to inflate in coming weeks. At present not too many users are aware of the existence of this account though.
The new Twitter account will initially focus solely on trying to support Twitter users who have questions about or issues with Microsoft’s new operating system, Windows 7. What I liked best about this support channel is that they are actually responding to user queries and offering helpful tips and advice. And the important thing is these tips can be read by other users as well, as it always is with tweets on Twitter. Microsoft reportedly said that it doesn’t expect to be able to answer all queries at all times, but that’s only logical.
Good move Microsoft!
