Batch download all YouTube videos on a page or playlist

Often when browsing or searching YouTube I come across interesting video playlists. Also YouTube shows a bunch of related videos for every video I watch. These playlists and related videos always keep me on YouTube several minutes longer than I intend to stay. Sometimes I watch whole playlists.

One way to save time is to download videos from YouTube in bulk and watch them in your spare time. There are a couple batch video downloading tools but the one I found to work best is BYTubeD.

BYTubeD is a Firefox extension that can be used to download all or selected YouTube videos on a page in bulk. When you are on a page that has links to YouTube videos or embedded YouTube videos and there are several of them, you can use BYTubeD to download all of them without clicking on each link individually.

BYTubeD works on any page - YouTube search results, playlists, related videos, videos embedded on a blog post, videos linked to from a blog post, and even Google or Bing search results page. I said any page, as long as there is a clickable link to a YouTube video.

Once you arrive at such a page, click on the Tools menu in Firefox and launch BYTubeD to immediately view a list of videos on that page. Press the CTRL key on the keyboard and select the videos you wish to download. Configure the download location, make your choice for download format (MP4 or FLV) and click on Start.

BYTubeD will then enqueue the videos on Firefox’s download manager. Once enqueuing is completed you can close BYTubeD’s widow and download the videos at your own pace.
