Mulve: Superfast, free, non-P2P music download

Last week, a new music download software named Mulve dropped in from nowhere and started making rounds on the Internet. The response was so great that Mulve’s server was brought down to its knees, before I had the chance to download the tool, which is why I had delay the review for two days.

Mulve is a small portable application that’s going to change how music is downloaded. The program's killer feature is its speed and simplicity. The interface is completely uncustomizable - all you can do is search and download. The software is not P2P type – you don’t have to upload anything or share. Instead, it downloads files directly from some server, which TorrentFreak says could be located in Russia.

The collection is huge. According to the developers there are 10 million songs in its database which beats any Limewire or Frostwire or Gnutella network. You will find all popular chart toppers, hip hop, and even rare stuffs. Bitrates ranges from 128kbps to high quality 320kbps. Music quality is generally good and there are no fakes and malware. By default, the program shows 100 results for each search query. You can get more by clicking on the ‘Extend Search’ button.

Download speeds are insane. It will most likely max out your home Internet connection. Some reviewers are reporting speeds as fast as 16Mbps! And yes, you can download multiple files at once.

Since Mulve is not based around BitTorrent or any P2P, users downloading music with Mulve cannot be tracked by anti-piracy companies since there is no-uploading and no IP addresses are given out. Mulve is a pirate’s dream come true.

I’m not sure about the laws in Russia. Can Mulve last?
