zButterfly: A torrent client to download movies
This is wrong, this is so wrong. But it’s awesome. A new Bittorrent client has joined the scene with focus on making it easier for people to find and download various movie release – both recent and old. zButterfly has such a slick and easy to use interface that anyone and almost anyone, even the most clueless, can download movies with ease.
Rarely I have come across a software that is so well organized. On startup users see a home screen where the most popular movies are featured, and on the side they can navigate through the ‘catalog’ of films by genre, actors, directors, countries and the year the film was released.

On expanding a category users get to see a list of movies arranged by rating. There is also a “best of the genre” section that leads users directly to only the best movies released till date. Want to see Academy Award winners? No problem. Click on the ‘Oscar’ section to view the complete list of winners for all award categories, over the entire history of Academy Awards right from 1929 to the current year.
In addition to the catalog, there is also an advanced movie torrent search engine built into zButterfly. Here, users can filter their searches based on production years, genres and IMDb ratings.

When users see a film they like to see, they can continue to the movie download page where a wealth of information is presented. Various release formats from HDRip, DVDRip to iPod, downloads in different languages, the film’s cast, its IMDb rating, trailers and recommendations for similar films are all available.
The legality of the software is questionable, but ZButterfly's creators cites the old paraphrase in it’s defense – “We are a search engine. We do not copy the content on our servers, we do not operate a torrent tracker, we are just a mirror of the BitTorrent network. A mirror which is decorated with a catalog of movies.” While this may be true, the movie industry won’t be backing it. Should be interesting what happens next.
