Pen Drive Reminder reminds you to remove pen drive before leaving

Do you keep forgetting your pen drive on your friend’s PC or at work? You need Pen Drive Reminder, a neat little application that helps you remember to remove your USB drives from the computer before you leave for home.

Pen Drive Reminder can alert you in three different ways:

1. Silent Mode: A balloon notification will pop up when you try to shut down, restart or logoff the computer without removing your flash drive. This option is ideal if you always shutdown or logoff at the end of the day.

2. Alarm Mode: This option is useful if you do not shutdown the computer but always leave for home at about the same time. Using the Alarm mode you can set a balloon notification to pop up at a specified time of the day, say 15 minutes before you finish the day.

3. Countdown Mode: The countdown is another option where you can set a countdown for the balloon reminder to pop up.

Installing the application is easy – simply copy the executable file to the pen drive or install it directly on the pen drive. Remember to use the “Autorun” button on the application to create an autorun.inf file on the root of the drive, otherwise the program won’t work.

Whenever the computer is lagging or some application is taking too long to respond, we usually fire up task manager and look under the Performance tab or under Processes to check on processor utilization or the amount of free memory available. The task manager is ideal for real-time analysis of CPU and memory utilization. It even displays a short history of CPU utilization in the form of a graph. You get a small time-window, about 30 seconds or so, depending on how large the viewing area is.
