OfficeTab – Tabs for Microsoft Office

OfficeTab is a free plug-in for Microsoft Office that brings a tabbed interface to the office suite. OfficeTab adds a tab bar to Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, just below the Ribbon in Office 2007/10 and below the toolbars in Office 2003, but this position can be changed. This enables you to open multiple office documents easily without crowding the Windows taskbar.

gedit text editor now available on Windows

gedit, the default text editor of the GNOME desktop environment, is now available in Windows binary to be run on the Windows operating system. gedit is a simple text editor and vastly inferior, if I may use that word, to powerful Windows text editor like Notepad++ and Notepad2. But Linux users who are used to qedit will find it exciting to be able to use this application when they work on Windows.

Silentale is a new cloud service whose goal is to “consolidate your contacts and conversations from multiple platforms, including webmails, social networks and mobiles.” Silentale runs as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform on top of Amazon Web Services, and functions as an aggregator for a number of web services the Internet folks use. With Silentale one can archive conversations carried on email, instant messengers, Twitter, Facebook etc on the cloud.
