Good grief, having lived through the cassette age in early adulthood, I don't need to be reminded of how many times a cassette player ate a tape I was playing, or how many times the tape broke, or how many times one of the little wheels that pulls the tape across froze up and refused to budge...

  2. ... and when you pull a stuck tape free, it comes out all wrinkled. That length of the tape never plays good again.

    Many times I have snapped tapes trying to free it from a frozen wheel. Then I use to glue the broken ends together. During playback the music jumps when the head encounters the joint.

    VHS were the real pain. When a cassette gets stuck, the only way to free it is to take the whole player apart.
