TCP/IP Manager – Quickly change network settings

TCP/IP Manager is an open source application designed to help computer users keep track of their network configuration in different locations, and switch from one network to another easily.

Often network settings such as IP address, Gateway IP, DNS servers are different at different locations. At work your computer might have a local IP address which is different from the one at home. The office network is also likely to use different DNS servers than the ones you use at home. A person who brings his laptop to work has to change the network settings before connecting to the office network and then change them back when he gets home.

TCP/IP Manager solves this problem by allowing the user to maintain different sets of network settings under different profiles, and easily switch from one profile to another with the click of a button. The user needs to create a profile for each location and enter network settings like IP addresses, subnet masks, DNS servers etc. To change profiles simply click on the icon on the system tray and choose the profile you want to use from the menu.

How to Record CPU and Memory Usage Over Time in Windows?

Whenever the computer is lagging or some application is taking too long to respond, we usually fire up task manager and look under the Performance tab or under Processes to check on processor utilization or the amount of free memory available. The task manager is ideal for real-time analysis of CPU and memory utilization. It even displays a short history of CPU utilization in the form of a graph. You get a small time-window, about 30 seconds or so, depending on how large the viewing area is.
