ReclaimPrivacy: Facebook privacy scanner

With over 170 options to choose from, Facebook’s privacy settings are a nightmare for a user who just wants to keep in touch with his friends. A newly launched website called ReclaimPrivacy will help you get your privacy settings right.

Simply drag this bookmarklet to your web browser bookmarks bar, log in to Facebook and then click that bookmark.

Immediately, the bookmarklet will start scanning your settings looking into various areas like personal information, contact information, friends, tags and connections, known applications that leak personal information etc and warn you about settings that might be unexpectedly public.

It also advises you on what changes to make in order to make your account data more private.

The site and bookmarklet code is completely open source. ReclaimPrivacy also doesn’t see any of your data.
