Microsoft launches free web development tool WebMatrix [Screenshots]

Microsoft has just launched a totally awesome free web development suite called WebMatrix that provides an all-in-one solution for building websites on Windows. WebMatrix has all the components needed to build both static and dynamic - a web server, a database, a web framework, and a development environment.

WebMatrix includes three products — IIS Developer Express (a development Web server), ASP.NET (a Web framework), and SQL Server Compact (an embedded database). WebMatrix integrates support for these three products, to provide streamlined deployment to the development web server, database management, and page creation.

Developers can either start from scratch or build sites upon popular open-source Web applications and CMS like Wordpress, Drupaal and Joomla. WebMatrix then installs everything you need on your machine, lets you tweak your code, and then deploy the site to your host.
